Hey just joined here, dont have a nova at the moment but as soon as christmas is out of the way i plan to start a little track day nova project :)

The plan is to buy a cheap nova and put a 1.6 8v mpi engine in it. So far i've got nothing for the project  but i've got the engine lined up ready for it :D The aim is just to have some fun and learn some things along the way (reason for not just buying a gsi/gte)

Anyways im sure as soon as i start the project i'll part with my ?5 and become a member :thumb:

Yeah, probably was :D

Mk2's have different wings, headlights, grill and bumpers, and spoiler in the case of the GSi. Also have the MUCH NICER DASH :thumb:

Spoiler was on the SRi and some ltd editions too :p

Also had different door cards - bigger all-in-one armrest/handle/pockets.

The Mk2 actually has a dashboard, where as the Mk1 has a nasty lump of badly chiselled brown plastic where the dashboard should be*. Anyone who says otherwise is a gay.

*As for the grey/black/red/blue/pink versions - it doesn't matter what colour your turd is, at the end of the day its still sh*t :thumb:

any pics of the 2? insides dont matter since it's all getting stripped, all that will be left is what needs to be :thumb:. The nova will be the cheapest one i can find thats not rusting to bits, but if theres reasons to get a mk2 over a mk1 or the other way round i'll obviously get the better one

Condition of chassis and shell would be the most important factor, doesn't really matter if its Mk1 or 2 as there's no advantage to either.

This (http://www.novaload.net/forum/viewfeaturecar.php?ref=2781) is an example of Mk2 GSi:

...and this (http://www.novaload.net/forum/viewfeaturecar.php?ref=2575) is an example of a Mk1 GTE:

You also get poverty spec versions of each, with unpainted plastic bumpers and no spoilers, and various ltd editions with a range of trim styles.

Just making sure people keep informed of their fleece status.

I'm nice like that.

Your chances of finding a clean MK2 greatly outweigh finding a clean MK1, for obvious reasons. You want to be on the lookout for a Fun or a Spin 1.2 shopper which has been owned by an old couple from new. They ARE about, as i managed to find one a few months ago :D

I'll second that, mine was peviously owned by an 86 year old, full Vaux service history and 12K on the clocks.
