OK my engine is in bits. So i've decided i might as well mess with the internals while i can!

I'm thinking of putting a fast-road cam in. Now the mags make claims of up to 10bhp from putting a fast road cam in my engine (1.4sr). Is this true?,How will it affect driveability? would i need to change anything else?, and if it's a good idea which one should i choose, piper or kent?

B-) "and a Persian Rug" B-)

All I know is that when u put a high lift cam in it is pants on tick over and up to about 3k revs but after that they are wicked.

Ease Yourself Back Into Conciousness !!!!!

Nah, not true, it does make the idle a bit lumpy but not so bad. Personally i'd get a shrick cam from petermaiden. If ur engine has done a few miles then u might need a set of followers. Obviously ur gonna need a head set (bolts, gaskets etc).

Hi, I've got a PIPER A570 (Fast Road) CAM in my SR and it's sweet! a little lumpy at idle but when you put your foot down it has a instant kick @ 2K REV's right through! but I've also had my head ported polished and skimmed! :D

piper, and get a rally cam, much better than fast road. a little less low down power, but who drives at low revs any way!!
just dont get a race cam unless u wanna drive above 4k all the time :D sweet
