hey does anyone know the correct battery size and type for a nova gsi 1990??

all the same mate, why do you need to know? if you buy one from most shops it'il say in the battery book thing along with the code.

makro is always a good place to get car batterys from.

Afaik all Nova petrol batteries are the same, but its worth considering a diesel one (Nova, Astra, Cavalier ones should all fit - my old hatch had a cav derv one in it) as it'll have a little more power to it.

Unless you mean dimensions and etc for relocating the battery?

ok thanks for the help just had a funny feelin that a gsi battery was bigger and more powerfull that a standard nova battery, ok i will look into a desiel battery as im running some big sounds

if you use a Diesiel battery, dont you need to use a diesiel alternator?

A diesel batterys the same as a petrol one, just bigger, more amp's etc to crank over a diesel engine.

yea i had a cavva TD battery on mine and cept a standard alternator and the two worked in harmony for years

sorry for using ya thread mate.so if i get a cavalier diesel battery and use it on my nova it should work perfect, as the battery im using just aint poweful enough.

yea mine was fine! jst bolted and clamped strait in! i needed the extra power as i had solonoid pop doors and boot!

i had a veccy derv battery on my old XE, put a new starter motor on aswell, fired it up and thought the car was gonna go round the starter motor lol
