That would be because you've got standard rear shock absorbers fitted ;)

Or just a suitable sized jubilee clip will be sufficient, ive heard of some people using tie-wraps as it only needs to hols the spring once the car is lifted off the floor, but shouldnt they be using a full length ramp aka: the MOT ramp???

My Nova got picked up on a 4 poster when it was MOT time, It doesn't like 2 posters! lol

lmfao thats a classic one... but you can see why people say for anything over 30/40mm you need shortened dampers - imagine if you were taking a corner hard and the spring came shooting out!

my sprigs are held in with tie-raps to be on the safe side even though i have stiffer/shorter shockers on.

haha, same here, i dont understand why my rear springs fall out tho, as i have a full matching avo kit. I drove back from the bodyshop once with one spring sat across the rear beam instead of on it. oh well coilovers it is then - the hardship.

Yeah I got a full 60mm Spax kit on mine :gay:

However just won a *cough* Corsa B TD on the bay with Spax RSX coilovers on, which may go on the Nova, if the car is acceptable enough to purchase :D

i made travel limiters to keep the springs in place for that very reason ;)

Erm what difference does it make if the car is on a two or four post ramp for mot? If it's on a four poster it's still going to get jacked up front and rear so the springs would still fallen out. Lol!.........

i think he means it was on the mot ramp but then the tester jacked the rear wheels up using the jacking beam fitted to all mot ramps :thumb:

i have lowered my sisters nova by 60mm and not heard anything about springs falling out?! what can happen and she drives quite fast!lol

Is it a good idea to put the standard ones back on for the mot?

The MOT is a car safety test. By all means stick with the lowered springs, but find a way to fix them in place - cable ties, etc.

They may also fall out if you catch a bit of air lol
Over a hump back bridge or something.

If it lets the beam fall low enough, they will fall out.

Mine passed mot fine with 60mm springs, and proper shortened Avo shocks.

they do but they also jack the car up on the ramp - how else would they check for play or that the wheels spin freely etc ??
