Im gettin my car back on the road in a couple of weeks, i have a 1.6sv engine on twin 40 webbers thats f**ked so im getting a 1.6 gte engine fited :) and swaping over the carbs. Do i need a different inlet manifold ???

naw jus put the manifold on the other engine and it should fit

It wont fit.

You'll need a T40 inlet for a gte engine, as the 1.6sv has square ports, compared to GTEs round.
Assuming the SV engine currently has the correct square port inlet fitted...

Yeah i have the square port inlet so im gonna have to get a gte one then,
any ideas what i could get one of them off ?

You can't get them off anything in a scrappy etc.

You have to either buy a new one (www.tuning.co.uk (http://www.tuning.co.uk))

Or look for someone that is breaking a T40'd engine, with a sri/gsi/gte t40 inlet manifold.

And reading this thread again, theres no need fit a gte engine, just fit a gte cylinder head to your 16sv block. Voila. :) Lol

The sv engine is fcuked and the gte is a much better engine... is'nt it ?

The GTe engine just has injection and a better head.
Everything else is the same as the SV engine.
