Today about 10 of us from my college went along to the launch of the Motorsport Academy. Was fairly interesting. The aim of the Academy is to help Motorsport progress and help the industry by helping employers and educators work together to provide the skills neccessary for motorsport. It also aims to provide future employees with the information they need to choose what they want to do etc
Was a good day. Met Jimmy Mc Rae etc and there was a buffet lunch and that.

sorry to rain on your parade, BUT having seen the motorsport degree in swansea, its not the immediate walk into a ?100K F1 job that most people seem to think.... i know people with PHd's in aerodynamics that were workng equiv of below minimum wage duye to the ghey hours they were expected to work etc...

far more money in normal production car engineering ;)

I understand you dont walk intot hese jobs at that kind of salary. I would work for below minimum wage because at least you know that after a couple of years it will have been worth it.

nooooooo i did say that there is more money in normal vechiel engineering ;)

I guess I jsut hate the ethos of most motorsport companies think that because you work for X they can pay you a good 20% less than what you'd get for doing a v similar job in the normal industry because your business card might say "Mclaren" etc... not worth it imho
