Hi to everyone. Im new. I dont have a Nova Yet but i should have one by Monday. The nova I am getting is a 1.5 TD. Now are these tuneable? The original plan was to fit a 1.6 16valve with Throttle Bodies(X16 XE) from a Corsa Sport however i cant help thinking that tuning a 1.5 TD would be alot more unique and not as common as the tuned 1.6's. And i wouldn't mind a dump valve.

Does anyone have the Power Stats for the 1.5? And also if anyone knows what parts are available to up the power on them then that would be brilliant. Pics would be brilliant.

Thanks alot
M.

You can increase fuel and boost pressure to get more performance.

my mate had a 1.5td nova wound the fuelling up and sqooze silly boost into it being a derv, it went like a bat out of hell! he blew the head gasket in the end so did a 1.7td conversion out of a cavalier, fitted a big front mount intercooler and wound the derv and the boost up again, he had it rolling roaded at the join ford/vauxhall show in easter at stoneleigh, twas 133bhp and a 175lb of torque, was a minter. MARK330D its not so easy putting a dump valve on a diesel u have to get a avacum from the brake servo and a few other little bits also dump valves on diesels sound de-layed...... ning nang nong.............................ptssssssshhhhhhhh hh

I thought dump valves on TD's ruins the performance.

Nah, its generally not done (dump valves) as diesels dont have a vacuum source as such like a petrol. Best to not bother.

Tuning is easy. No plug in boxes as its not a modern TDi, but you can up the boost with a bleed valve/manual boost controller coupled with raised fuelling.
You need to fit a boost gauge & it will then need an intercooler.
