Is it just me or does this guy seem to break the mintest nova's around? everytime i have a mooch on stigbay i notice he's breaking 3-4 minters a week, this must make him the most feared bloke to the good ol nova lol.
just think it might be worth selling the cars as a whole thus keeping the nova population going as we are getting a bit thin on road, pissed off with seeing ****yass fiesta xr2i and crappy clios and saxo's etc. as a point does anyone know if it would be poss to find out how many nova's are still alive?

I'm composing a data base with Nick showing whats alive and whats dead.

How are you going about doing that?

there is more money in breaking cars of this type than to keep them in one piece.... simple economics really.

plus not all novas are "mint".. they might be well specced but the shell could be a tin worms dream.

imho colin smith is a tool and knows nothing about the vehicles he breaks.. but thats my opinion and it was set a loooooooong time ago lol

I bought some bits off him when he was based in Bournemouth.

Helpfull guy & he has a nice Escort Cosworth & a couple tasty Novas.

It is a shame to break such Novas but tbh there were thousands sold & there are still plenty about. Selling the bits off just makes sure they end up in the hands of enthusiasts. Sure I wish they all stayed in one peice, but better someone gets a GSi interior than an insurance assessor sends it to the crusher.

I've bought quite a few things off him, seems a sound guy.

He breaks them because theres no money in selling the car whole, no ones going to pay ?1k+ for a 1.2i nova, but breaking it for bits, interior ?100 etc, so it makes the money back.
Get a trailor, and go buy some cars and break them, theres good money in it.

Plus, the less nova's there are, the more the value of the ones still around increases, Lol.

How are you going about doing that?

There's a thread somewhere that nick started.
I've compiled half the data from that onto a spreadsheet.
I've also done a form to update any changes.

Eventually its hoped that a web site with search engine will be linked to the database.

For the immeediate future it'll be available to download etc.... but after I've dealt with the fleeces.

But not everyone with a nova is a member of novaload....

Obviously, would work with any nova a novaload member owns/has owned.

It's more for people to track cars etc.
Will help when buying a car from a novaloader.

How in the hell can you say that? Of course he knows what there worth, how you think he's paying to renevate his house, pays for his cars!!

His site, novarally.co.uk and his own specced escort cossie (think he recently sold it) prove that!!

Why work 38 hours a week for x amount, when you can work an hour on ebay an make triple!!

Go through his feedback, on the 19th alone feedback was left for over ?1ks worth of parts.

If he didnt know anything about what he was breaking, how did he figure out to start braknig them and make money? lmfao!

i mean about the exact components he sells ;) not the fact that its well known to take a car thats sold for ?500 and sell all the bits for 4 times more... :wall:

sent me 2 brake discs of BLATANT differing diameters and a pair of very very mis matched calipers with the wrong pads for either etc... awesome lol

i dont care what hes like now. and opinion is set and lasts forever ;)

If iirc colin started by breaking his rally car nova when he was made redundent and since then it just seems he's carried on breaking cars.

True, once an opinion is set it does stick, but in his defence that could have easily been an error lol or maybe he just doesnt like you Stu lmfao!! lol

No Colin Never broke his Rally Nova it was sold on eurorallye by iain.

Colin has been going for much longer than that, Dealt with him many times over the years both buying and selling. Very nice well mannered man unlike many you have to deal with.

If you think its a case working less than 37.5hrs a week you are very mistaken, it is very hard work and tbh i would be financially better off going back to working in an office as an Admin clerk but i enjoy what i do which is better than working for anyone else and worth more than money to me.

Things are steadily getting better though.

same colin smith who sold me a coscast head and mattig mirrors 3 years ago?

The coscast head WASN'T and the mirrors were damaged, and he chose to ignore all further contact, confident in the fact that I was over 100 miles away.

Yeah, real trustworthy!

They WERE red lights though, I didn't say they were red and then post brown ones! That was post offices fault, not mine!

Colin Smith KNOWINGLY sold me a non-coscast head and told me it was coscast.

Postman must have dropped them in a puddle then as there was dirt and water in the cracks.

You sound like the only Pr**k here mate...You've never even delt with him yet you think your justified to call him that!

I have delt with him a few times and never had an issue..

+ the grpA escort cossies he breaks are far nicer than the novas..
