i going to do rear discs on my 16v, now iv got cav sri rear discs wat hand brake cable do i use. i didnt even bother tring to get the cav one off as i will get a new one

I may be wrong here but I have been researching this for myself.
It seems most people recommend different cables. The issue is, if you remove the cable mounts from the beam in order to refit them in a better position to suit the Cav handbrake, you can use Nova or Astra & even mk2 Cav cable. Installing the mounts in the correct position will mean almost any cable should work. (providing it is approximately the right length).
I've always used the standard 'Long' Nova cable and a MK2 Cav 'short' cable, always worked ok.
Theres 2 types of MK2 Cav ones, i thinks its the shoter of the 2 ?
