View Full Version : Headlight Air Intake
Right, in the next few months (most likely after x-mas) ill hopefully be getting mine replicated and possibly making up a batch of like 10 or 20.
Just really gauging interest in these as i started a thread before months ago about this then lost the template lol anyway as ive now found it and done a bit more work to it today im going to get this sorted out if anyones intersted
Cant give pricess yet as ill be getting qoute's from injection moulding firms and producing these. If all goes well ill be whacking a few onto ebay too.

Cant post a pic as yet, as not at home now. At the minute these will be for a mk2 only, but could quite easily replicate mk1 head lights pretty easy
Hopefully will soon be available for RS Turbo's too as my mates persuaded me to make some for the passionford site lol
I'd like to see them dude
well ive got a drivers headlight an indicator as a direct replacement for an original working item. all the pics are at home and im not so will post up later
ill have 1 fella
sound then matey.
I cant give you a price as yet tho as tbh i genuinley have no idea how much it will cost to get them done!!
Be mint these for a track day warrior or pod car

Not to p*ss on your fire but have you looked into the tooling costs for injection moulding?
A firm I know had to pre order 1000 units before tooling would even be looked at.
The cat stood on the keyboard.
Didn't shift him quick enough.
Sorry guys

Im fully aware of the costs. Im very clued up on injection moulding, especially with zinc.
This is why i know just the place to go to get a mould sorted, wether it be ABS of fibreglass resin

Good to hear it. I know how annoying it is to have a plan then find it cost prohibitive.

right, ive been on the phone to some ABS engineers today, banded some fax's, e-mails etc about and they've given me some info and there views on this.
Thanks to them ill now most likly be able to get these made up for around ?50 each retail price.
They reckon if i do it the way they said a batch of ten should take about 4 hours to complete :D

sounds good mate count me in,what bout mk1?
see start of thread :D
i dont get these lol what are they for?? quater mile etc or??
they add 55bhp power :thumb: and are best used at illegal street racing events, people will think your a motorbike and back off
right so these go in place of where are lights are now yeh? what are the advantages of having this?
The idea is to then route a flexi pipe to the air filter, so cold air from outside runs into this and up to the filter. Instead of sucking in hot air from the engine bay, they then suck in this cold air from outside.
I reserve comment as to how effective these are, can't speak for Novas but I know on Celicas they make sod all difference :p but then to be fair the Celica does have a very small cold air feed from the wheel well
but wether they work or not, they look cool as fcuk !!!

I would be interested if you could do mk1's for both sides, also so that i can still use original indicators.
Cheers
will you be able to use it on road, or just track n shows

Consider for a second that you will lose an indicator and headlight, take some tablets, then ask that question again. :thumb:
