Hey ho, right, just fitted a brand spanking new Weber 32-34 DTML, works and all that, but when i start to slow down the engine dies completly! Any ideas?

Manual choke is connect, vacum advance is connected to the FRONT of the new carb, ticks over fine, and when it works theres a noticable difference.

But it just literally cuts out when slowing down or approaching junctions/islands etc!

Any ideas anyone?

just sounds like it needs setting up. Maybe correct jets and a tune up.

about 980rpm

The jets dont need changing as it comes pre-jetted for a 1400 SR you se ;)

when your paying ?283 for a carb, you'd expect to be already set up! Which it was

Fook, is that how much you payed :eek:

Perhaps you could try putting the idle up slightly.
Altho, 980rpm sounds a touch high, for a fully warmed up engine.

?283 ......................... fook!

Always thought they came jetted so it would at least run. Than it would need a RR session.

Maybe just the idle screws need tweeking.
Have you checked for air leaks?:thumb:

it will be pre jetted, BUT you will need it setting up for the specific engine!

Perhaps taking it to a garage and getting the mixture, idle etc set with a exhaust analyser machine might sort it.

im going to tomorrow, skive a day off work and take it in like

other then that, im very pleased with the overall result for a straight swap of carb :thumb:

I bought my 32/34 for a 1400 despite it going on a 1300. When I eventually got round to getting it set up at a rolling road we found that the jets were incorrectly marked. Iirc one of them was supposed to be .165 but when checked with a set of jet drills it was only .145, we ended up drilling it out to .175.

All this needs doing again now that I've rebuilt it with a 1400 block.

Great little carbs - ?285 sounds a lot - hope it was new…

Just had my 1400 with a DMTL setup & it pulls nicely avec the full tubular exhaust.

I found the carb, inlet and K&N on eGay for just 48 sheets…

Cool.

What did they alter to sort it? Mixture?

yeah just sorted out all the mixture setting and idle stop screw and all that.

Yeha ?283 is a lot, but as said before it was brand new from Aldon Auto :thumb:

Pulls really nice now, combined with a 4 branch and Ashley system goes really nice :D

Have you drove it with t40s on?

How does the weber compared to the t40s?
