Engine Noise

My engine makes a load of noise when its cold. I think that the noise is coming from the tappets. It goes after about a minute is it anything to worry about? My oil level is fine.

Mine did this when i had a 1.3sr engine. When i started using fully syntheticoil it stopped (Castrol MagnetecGTX for basic engines ). I think its when the oil hasnt had time to circulate around the engine! I think if u keep the revs at around 2k so it circulates faster without reving it much it will help a little, just dont go revving it upto 7k+ revs b4 its warmed/oiled up!!!!

Yep....just the tappets. I still get it a little, even using GTX Magnatex, but it goes after a few seconds.

What engine is it my 1.4 sri taps alot but its the injectors opening and closing. If its an injection it could be that!

if it goes away quickley then dont worry about it

mines horrible first thing in the morning but it only lasts a second or 2
