If you live in Scotland and fancy a free track day, drive like a prick and the police will give you one!!
Free Track Days (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/6150324.stm)
The drivers stopped by police will be given information and free entry to events at Knockhill.
So instead of working with car clubs to arrange and police legal meets, they're offering free tickets to track sessions to those they catch driving like tools? Way to go.

excellent. give them an opportunity to THINK they're a great driver around a track for a day, then watch them drive like an even bigger tool on the roads.
Saw this on another forum. Unbelievable isnt it!
The only way i can see this working is if they plant land mines on the circuit. Id pay to go and watch then lol
This country gets even better!!!
What a crock of SH1T

Thought they had already done that looking at some of the track day footage of a certain Cav. Just what you want when your on a track day is for it to be full of complete tools.
The pic of the bodykitted horrors on the BBC website arent really representative of the kind of cars that regularly get picked up by the bab. Most young people I see being pulled over (a fair few every night I deliver) presumably for poor driving are in clapped out M reg Escorts with 23rd hand kerbed Halford wheels and Corsas in Combat kits that are a different colour to the car. An ex-policeman I used to work with said that a car which was obviously 'well modified' i.e, had a lot of money spent on it, was less likely to be trouble (uninsured/badly driven/drink driving/etc). So yes, as Phil said, the track day will be full of bell ends in knackered Cavaliers, presumably with bald tyres and bent MOTs, presenting a danger to all around them. Its clear the first time that these cretins cannot drive when they get caught. Just remove their licences if its that serious an offence when their caught.
And Police should spot young people who are driving really well, and give them a free trackday. Or maybe just a carte-blanche blat in the police car with the blues on.

They have already rpved they cant drive, by letting them on track is making them think they can and will crash even worse.
I think that there will be pillocks doing things like this for years to come. Only today they have announced plans to ban 'junk food' adverts from kids tv. BUT as McDonalds is actually a 'brand' and not a 'product', it can keep advertising.......shot themselves in foot I think.......
How can boyracers hone their skills on a racetrack??? All they do in hinckley is drive round at about 45mph with a horrendously loud chimney & some nondescript drum & base noise rattling their back windows out. They also seem to have trouble with flys & other insects because they have all fitted those blue bug killing lights under their sills........... In my experience, boy racers can't actually drive fast:- Discuss....

In my experience, boy racers cant actually drive fast safely or appropriately. Normally it done in a car park or around blind corners etc.

that sounds good drive like a fud nd get free track day sure that will make ppl behave (or not)
In hindsight, the ploy is quite clever. The old bill allow all sorts of boyracers to turn up for 'track skills', their mates turn up to watch. Then some bloke walks round the car park checking all of the cars & issues summons, prohibition notices, seizure orders etc.
Possibly revealing if they have any stolen parts??
so if i (13 yr old lad) drive on the roads ill get a track day lol
either that or an asbo lol
worth a try hehe
out comes my mini moto :D
