different paint shades

is there a difference in paint shades an the age of the nova
for example my car is j reg colour is flame red (547L)
so would a g reg nova by the same flame red as mine ?

If they have the same code, then yes. However, bear in mind paint will fade at different rates over time, so even with the same code you might still find two cars don't quite match up.

i asked because i ve bought some panels in flame red but dont get them for a few week the lad said there are diffeent shades my mk2s colour code is 547L but didnt some ealier models there were flame red have a different code something like 48L if i remember correct ?
or i am i confused an there is just one flame red 547L ?

Each has two codes - Opel and Vauxhall. Opel ones tend to be 3 numbers whilst Vauxhall codes are 2 numbers.

so there is only one flame red it didnt differ between mk1 an mk2 models ?
