View Full Version : Camber Mod (again, old link don't work)
Hi,
Can anybody remember the old camber mod? I have tried the FAQ's link above but the link in that doesn't work.
I need to sort my camber out, mine wanders all over the place!
Thanks
Robb
you can either drill your strut tops 7mm over (**** way)
or eleongate the top hole where the shock bolts to the knuckle , (better way)
or you could buy some proper ecentric top mounts (best way)

eccentric top mounts, only ?70 a pair
or buy some rose-jointed lower arms (like i just did :thumb: )
Also for some reason i thought you could only run eccentric mounts on coilovers... ummm?
A
Eccentric top mounts easy to fit??
Eccentric top mounts easy to fit??
Remove strut, remove strut top mount, refit eccentric top mount, refit strut.
Need some spring compressors or a vice and some big balls lol
a vice and some big balls
Not a combination that normally go together well lol
Done it a few times, had to jump quickly once or twice lol lol
so how do they fit into the turret?? Never actually had a proper look at these
Slot straight in same as any other top mount, the adjustment is inside the circle.
I dont understand, can you explain further??
need pics and i dont have any...
if i take the STD top mount off, is it replaced with this ally circular plate, with all the holes in??
If so, where do i bolt to, or is there studs in it etc??
The holes are threaded and you use two bolts to hold the strut top to the turret through the original holes, with the strut top giving the desired amount of camber adjustment.
Fcuking squaddies, thick as pig sh1t lol
lol said the same but you worded it better

Cheeky Facker, Im not a squaddie, im in the air force!!!
Anyway, thanks lee, CUnnt, How easy are they to fit, adjust etc??
Its just i fitted some Koni coilovers and now my camber is all over the shop, different camber on both the front wheels!!!
Easy to fit, easy to adjust, basic terms, hold the strut where you want it to be and rotate the strut top until the bolt holes appear through the turret holes and slap some bolts in!
Im a bit concerned that you say your camber is different both sides. You sure you dont have elliptical top holes where they bolt to the hub and youve just slapped them in willy nilly air force style without noticing? lol
AFAIK they werent elongated
Ill have a look tomorrow!
Im gonna fit poly bushes to the lower arms and TCAs too, see if it will take out a bit of play!
Fitting my Solid mounts tomorrow too!
that will always help mate. Cant see any other reason why youd have excessive camber difference unless they are elongated holes though.
Thanks for all the replies, I need to get the tracking done asap so was going to tackle the camber before tracking.
The only problem I can see with adjusting the camber from the top is that the track of the car will be wider and the arches may not accomodate my wheels so well then.
I will have a look and see which is best, prob will elongate the top strut bolt hole.
Thanks again :)
Robb
