ecu muddle?

hi there i was just wondering if the ecu out of a redtop 4x4 cav has a chip in it. it mite sound like a stupid question but i would be gratefull if someone could shed some light my waylol. a friend said there different to the 2wd ones, is he just lying? many thanks!!

They're different engines - the 4WD Cavaliers and Calibras all had C20LET turbo engines, the FWD ones had n/a C20XE engines. I'd assume the ECU would therefore be different to account for the blower.

you can get a cav gsi 20XE in 4x4 sin them for sale in total vauxhall, but yea u'd have to find out if it was a turbo LET or gsi XE.

As RC said, you can get non-turbo 4x4's.
As for the ECU, i'd have thought they would be different, due to the txb. Best off checking the part numbers to be sure..
