Help with dizzy

I have recently bought a nova 1.4 Sri which is a non-runner due to the fact that the wrong dizzy is on the car it has a bosch dizzy and brown cap which is incorrect for the car i think it should be a lucas dizzy and black cap but ive seen pictures of engines on this site using a bosch dizzy and brown cap with the c14se engine in the nova Sri. Will both types of dizzy work?

Both work.
On a Sri the dizzy only distributes the spark, it doesn't have any other function.

what makes you think the dizzy is to blame?

I bought the car as a non-runner with the distributer missing ive bought several but all of them don't seem to fit
