For now i just wanna get the car together there will be a lot of changes still after its put together :thumb:

just read the whole lot and all i can say is wow. do you work at a bodyshop? or have you worked at one? i no how hard it is to get a good job in a garage or drive. when your painting do you put water down on the floor as helps a the s**t stay away from the panels? what you painting with base and clear or 2k?

i dont at the moment but am qualifyed at have worked at many, just finished at a garage due to moving back to brixham. i used to do a lot of work on novas at my old work place arlington panel works were we built 2 that got featured in tv there is one on here Marks turbo in the features section

well lil updates i have recieved my windscreen rubber so the windscreen will be in tomorrow. i have had my tyres fitted but the bloke has ruined the wheels and taken lots of chunks of paint off well not impressed!!

Jeez... Where'd you get the tyres fitted? Did stevie wonder do them? I'd complain mate and say you want them refurbed, I'm guessing its hte chipping round the lip? or have you been riding the pavements? lol

Lower it more now :) dont know my mums fella thought he was doing me a favour and got them done charged like a tenner for doing them didnt even balance them or nothing!! there ruined gonna have to paint them again now :( yeah i wanna get some new springs now looks well to high haha

awaiting some rear window surrounds and clear rear lights of cloin now should be here this week or next. gonna moddify the rear lights by putting the red top half in them of my standard lights

i have polished up the tailgate, passenger wing and door thats the last of that for now till the bonnets painted still wasnt impressed with the finish though wasnt no where near as shiney as id like it! so i tried turtle wax red colour magic on the whole car and its turned out amazing well chuffed with the car now it gleams! heres some pics..... when i get some more fuel ill put it on the road get some better ones

painted a lot of the interior plastics in satin black to go with the dash. i have done the carpet as well will put up pics tomorrow when i get a few ;) oh and got some Reclining bucket seats being dropped down next friday from Razorjack!

Carpets look good, done with the foil-tec stuff? no mate just satin black, turned out really good was a spare carpet i had to test on. tried bending it about, rubbing it all sorts it wont come off well chuffed with it :D

How come?
How come? trying to raise money for a new car, very keen on dirty dogs corsa 1.6turbo would be cheaper for me than go the whole mile with this one on engine swap etc. If it doesnt sell for what im after i will end up keeping it not gonna just give it away ;)
anyway still on the bay will see if it fetchs what i want if not itll be staying. Razorjack came doen today in his saloon and dropped of my seats and bonnet lifters heres a pic of the seats, will post picks of lifters when i get them working proper lol

now off of ebay no bids :( decided on keeping it now :) i have got a geniune Trooper bonnet vent coming in the next few days what will be colour coded and fitted also doing a swap with my fiberglass skirts for KC 08's Gsi ones. unsure wether to colour code skirts or get a dark grey u-pol plastic spray on them???

I am looking for someone who knows what there doing to get me going again I need it seam welded (I have weld plate kit as well) and a small section on the floor. I am also looking to get a few dents knocked out, one door delocked and have it painted do you know anyone that I can pay to do this? to be honest if they could stick the mount kit and the engine in it as well id be looking for that to be done too.

Mark There is plenty of how to's in the articles section mate where you can get info on fitting the plates just depends if your handy with a welder or know some one that is. Also looking through peoples conversions on the project will give you ideas on how and where to seam weld also for cutting and boxing the chassis leg (unless your just going to hit it with a hammer) to allow room for the alternator. As for repairing the dents and painting the car it all depends where you where if your local and around this area i will be more than willing to lend and hand and point you in the right directions, other wise you will have to get quotes from garages in your area or post a thread asking if anyone knows someone in your area Thanks :thumb:
today arrived my new bonnet scoop/vent, so i started off by masking around and wrote measurements inchs/centimeters etc so i can aline the scoop on it. Then i made a cardboard templete to use with the fixing holes marked up. this is my progress so far.....bonnet will need painting again :( due to slipping with the drill all the way down it lol

lol matching the paint will be a nightmare, just blend it if you run out and it isnt 100%.

finally managed to turn the car around as the imobiliser/alarm was stopping me and all my indicators are woking again buzzing??? god knows why they wasnt before??? still no hazzord switch lol just plonked the bumper on to see what it looks like :)

got the side skirts on only screwed by the bottom though, will need painting thinking of doing them black again now as they look good againt the red

gave my fuel cap a rub down and the aid of some satin black paint got to lacquer it yet but will do that when i do the side skirts the same colour

got the side skirts in 2k primer, its very fast drying the activator i use so hopefully get them rubbed down and into paint today

couple bits done now, was actually supprised how quick the primer went off! i knew it was fast but 30 mins is a joke lol i have done both the fins in black and lacquered them up as well as coating the fuel cap in lacquer. hopefully ill get the longer parts rubbed down and painted today but time is againt me at the moment

As it was pissing it down got feck all done today!! painted the scoops slats satin black, i am gonna take the grille's grille slats out and paint them later so it all ties in (bumper was with same colour)

PS: we have had a silly hot hot day here! makes a changed lol no its a lot heavier mate if i get a chance tomorrow ill weigh it and pm you, the one you got is really light. i just prefer the look of this one as the fiberglass one has a kinda dip in the middle and i wanted the slats to go with the grille and bumper makes it look factory ish

HUGE UPDATE!! its got locking wheel nuts lol also ive moved it to the neigbours drive due to were getting a loft conversion i no longer have use of the garage :( oh and got a lovely grey cover haha

Dont have locking wheel nuts thou. wouldnt have thought you needed them either Tbh Brixham with the theifing OAP's lol
