Engine Conversion - Wiring.

im getting a 1.2 spi tomorrow and am thinking about putting my gsi lump in it. when changing engines do you only have to change the engine bay loom or do you have to change all the wiring?

spi engine loom is part of the car loom

when i changed my 1.0 shell to the SR engine i only had to change the engine loom, but there again the SR is only a carb so only like 5 wires anyway

My old GSi was an SRi in a prevoius life so again, changed virutally bugger all

Youll need the entire engine harness for the 1.6, remove what you dont need from the SPi loom, and splice the GSi loom to it, much like when fitting a valver. Either that or get hold of a complete engine and car loom from a GSi and swap the lot if you dont fancy doing any joins.
