radiator and fan

tryed to fit my 1.3 fan to 1.6 rad but the fan doesn't fit the inserts at the bottom of the rad. does this cause any problems or do i need the matching fan unit for proper fitting. just don't want to damage the new rad with the fan rubbing.

you need the bigger GTE/GSi fan. I had the same prob with my 1.2 I'm converting to a GSi - the fans much bigger.
