which offset is the best for a nova
everyone tells me it is et49
but every wheel shop i phone up says it is et 45
i am confused
i have a mk2 and i only want to fit a set of 15s with 195/50 tyres i am gunna give up soon and buy a ford
why did vauxhall make such a shit offset bastards

49 for 13", 14", 15", 16" up to 6.5
45 for anything 7" or wider ususally 16" or 17"

i read that it was for best handling in the wet and dry on the normal wheels.

49mm offset is for safety when you have a blowout

The correct term is Negative Scrub Geometry!

It provides excellent stability when braking on un-even sufaces such as gravel etc.

I remember some guy from courtenay telling me that!

here is your "performance" gasget set sir thats ?60. ill just look at it mr courtney, ohh its got GM stamped on it "is this a standard one mr courtney?". "errrr yes it is" sez mr courtney.

ive also heard that stuff they do drinks oil like there is no tomorrow. and pretty much all of the "perfomance" stuff they sell is acctually std GM parts that you can get from vauxhall for half the price

I didnt say he worked at courtenay did I?

I was just chatting to him at there premises.

I think they are very good vauxhall specialists but they are expensive.

But as Cambridge says: you get what you pay for!
