anyone know how to wire a socket to the car thank
Take the feeds from the rear clusters. Pop out the lamp holder and just go though indicators, brakes, reverse, fog etc to get the correct feeds, then ground to chassis.

is it really that easy
yep to wire it.
How are you anchoring it to the car?
yes its easy, i cant remeber the colours tho from the plug, is it a single plug or 2 ??
I was guessing that the plug would have it's own colours on an info sheet, all the ones I fitted to the Transits did, each seemed to use their own colours depending on what was in the factory.
nah i used to fit universal ones, cant remeber for the life of me the colours tho !!
yellow and green are each indicators but i cant remember which
blue was fog
red was brake
black earth
these are all i can remeber sorry
i may be wrong tho, its about 5 years since i wired 1 lol

This is a wiring diagram for the 12n, 7 pin standard towing socket & trailer plug, it also covers the wiring of any UK trailer and most European standard 12n wiring.
As viewed from the rear part as you look at the wiring terminals.
