Keeps them protected from the elements is the main reason. Copper brake lines will be fine, but you need to use bulkhead unions where the pipes come into the car at the front, and leave the car at the rear. No dodgy holes with the pipe passing through! lol

^^ lol i didnt think there was any special union for the bulk head! i thought they just passed through!

but yer it looks good! my mates rally mk2 escort had it all done, but then one day someone stood on the copper fuel line and well he wasnt happy! as he was stuck somewhere lol

Both the fuel & brake lines are internal on mine, using Goodridge type hose for the brakes and just using 8mm copper pipe for the fuel, i aint used any unions for where it passes into / out of the car just some rubber grommets, theres no joins inside the car tho ... didn't have any probs at MOT time.

its a 5 min job to make some with some copper pipe. Main reason is so they dont get damaged, but they are only going to get damaged if your jumping your nova of 50ft cliffs or driving over a rocky field at 90mph.

this is how we did my fuel and brake line when we built my shell, note i just used a single feed line to the rear and split it, alot easier than trying to run 2 lines although we did use a proper t piece and unions through the bodywork

you also have to use proper p clips to secure the brake lines and they have to be equally spaced at 10-15cm
