the cam will fit the head, but you may have problems with the dizzy drive, only one way to find out.

The pulley to cam fittings are all the same, but you need to make sure the teeth on the pulley you order match the teeth on the crank pulley and water pump of your 1600, ie square or round toothed :)

You dont need even remove the cam, just unbolt the 1400 head/cam carrier, and refit the cam carrier(with cam still inside) onto the new engine.
Most/All aftermarket cams will work with both dizzys, and you'll be keeping the 1.4Sr dizzy as its on carbs.

So it'll be fine.

The only thing you'll need watch is the belt teeth shape as mentioned above, for the pulley.

ah right so just put my cam carrier on the other engine! nice one!!

so by the sounds of things i'll need a pulley for a GTE so the teeth shape will match the bottom ones? will wait till i get the engine till i buy the vernier then.
