I have a Pielburg - yeah I know they are $hit!

I wouldn't mind reconditioning it, it was on my car until today when it was changed for another Pielburg - a mate had it lying around.

Sooo is it worth reconning it or is the Weber far superior?

Also how much is it/which parts are neeeded when you do this?

Cheers, Liam

A friend of mine had his peirburg reconditioned then shortly afterwards fitted a weber 32/34 and regretted spending money on the pierburg. So I'd fit the weber.

weber :)

plus, if the carb is working, you will get no gains from recon work.

people don't like them because big gains can be had from changing it to a weber. Fair enough opinion, but as CP posted ages ago, some stock rod series insists on the standard pierburg carb, and the engines peak at 120bhp ish (although they'd be useless on the road lol)

Swings and roundabouts really, but replacing it is a good idea to make the most of any future mods. :)

the larger of the two chokes on the pierburg is only about 28mm iirc, the small one on the weber is 32mm, lots more air getting through the weber.
