Compression ratio will be too high to run safely.
1600 head is nigh on the same anyway, apart from the compression.
Should of left the 1600 head on.
hold on this is what mine will be, gas flowed c14se on 1600 bottom end, i thought it would be alright

I said you may have to measure the CR ratio before you fitted it ;)
yer you did and your right again lol
how do i go about that then? lol
see the 1.4 tuning guide in my sig. there are instructions there
thats just confused me realy stu lol
i'll get a mate to work it out and sort it for me lol
You might be better just finding a 1600 head.
Shouldn't cost much at all.
yer i'll see if it comes with one when i get it. am having the bottom end deliverd on tuesday hopefully so will see what else it comes with. when you take a cam out and put in in a different head do you need to put new followers on etc?

Just replace the followers, thrust pads etc in the same order they were on the old head.
so there the only new parts. right will look into them in a sec. look out for a new thread from me tommorow or as soon as i get me 1600.
Nah, re-use the parts off the 1400 head.
Dont need any new parts.
As long as they aint worn etc.
ah even better! does the inlet off mine fit the gsi/gte engine? or is it possibly to mod the inlet to fit it. (irmscher inlet)
Hrm, im assuming something must be modded now?
As your sri head has round ports, and the irmscher inlet has cathedral.
If the inlet has been modded to fit the round port head, you'll be fine.
But if the heads been modded, the inlet ports wont match the std gte/gsi head.
right will have a look at both when i get the other engine, and take mine out.
i take it i can mod the inlet or head myself with a kit or somthing. maybe? lol
