Me mates treated himself to a new Caterham with a Rover engine in (130hp) All was going well during run in but now when he opens it up it hits a " wall " in 5th and won't accelerate past 4250rpm tho' it'll rev to 8000 in 1st -4th. As a result he cant get over 90mph but he can get to 60 in 4.5secs. I reckon he's got a "speed limiter" built into/or influencing his ECU. Any other ideas?

My mates 1.6 160 bhp will pull 130mph+, It's now got a 2.0 16v zetec in and it scares me alot. The speed limiter sounds like a posibility but strange?

It is strange. Its been to Caterham and they found nothin wrong, BUT they didn't supply or fit the engine so i reckon they're keepin well out. Its supposed to do 120mph plus but if a gnat farts when u go by at that speed u lose control of the car (and ur bowels)
