swap t40s for r1 carbs

could i simply swap a set of t40's for r1 carbs? providing i got a inlet manifold from bogg brothers, bored out the jet etc. and regulate the fuel pressure to 3psi oviosly. still not clear on the engine management side of them, take it they will run if not mananaged, but would run better with engine management?:thumb:

same as carbs mate, need a vac advance dissy and will run without management, but better to be managed!!
