I think the bits hanging out the dash are part of some sort of telemetry.

340bhp + FWD? Oh dear :wtf:

Untested handling
That should make amusing reading when they do test it lol

lol What are Vauxhall playing at? Doesn't the VXR Vectra already have diabolical oversteer?

Time for 4WD me thinks, at least Ford have learned with the 2nd gen Focus RS

Understeer; well the VXR doesn't handle brilliantly, but I think when Top Gear had it on they made a bit of a meal of it in their usual style of reporting - for example, remember when they said the Evo FQ400 was sh*t because it couldn't out accellerate some crappy family saloon at 30mph in 5th gear...

Problem is that Ford's RS range is involved in Rallying where 4WD is the standard; The VXR range is touring cars, where the cars tend to be either FWD or RWD. This is reflected in the road cars.

The Fq400 is ****e, must be one of the worst cars to spend ?40k+ on. And this could be good, the astra888 was a much better improvement on the coupe turdbo

why dont vauxhall make rwd :wall:

they recon the next generation vectra (and saab - same platform) will be 4wd, but i dont know if it will be like the cav, where its fwd (or rwd) and the fast one is 4x4?

Still seems abit like the return of the LC, 186mph! in a vauxhall! there arent many cars quicker (top speed), let alone one that can carry 4 passengers.

lets face it, it will be a nice big fast comfy bahn stormer, NOT a B road basher...

you cant really make a 2 ton fwd car with lots of power go round a track properly, its just not going to happen without mental budget, and you can spend that on a rwd platform or 4wd. But lets face it 4wd is NOT the be all and end all of motoring! RWD is just as good imho.

its usefull that GM has purchased subaru as that can lead to the 4wd technology moving over to the GM vehicles as you can garuntee that the platforms will be multi vehicle to save money (ford already do this with the focus/volvo 40/50 series and so on)

GM don't own Subaru, Toyota do. Well, the direct owners are Fuji; of whom Toyota own a percentage of after buying some of the FHI shares GM sold off last year.
