Just wondering if any of you guys Novas rain / leak in ?
Because i've got no carpets i notice every small drop, after i've washed it or its rained heavy theres a (very) small bit of water in the footwells (mainly passenger side), cant see were its coming from and i've had the windscreen sealed up ... or do Novas just leak ?!?
Can't say i've noticed with any other Nova i've had but thats maybe cos theyve all had carpets to soak it up ?!?

Mine pisses water into the boot, think through the rear window seals. Lol

Do you have a sunroof?

Nah no sunroof, its seems to be coming from the corner near the bulkhead behind the dash somewhere as it runs down my cage on the floor.
Think it just must be another quality Nova feature !! lol

i used to get a puddle in the foot well, but realised i had a hole in the battery tray lol and my brothers old GSI used to leak from the sunroof the windscreen and the tailgate window lol

Had the same thing on mine. and it turned out to be coming from where the nearside inner arch meets the bulkhead. Couldn't find it when it was raining, it wasn't until i drove her on a muddy wet stage and followed the wet muddy marks up the bulkhead that is showed it's self.

Might be leaking in at the pedal box gasket...

You could try a bit of talcum powder around the area where the water appears.. that way you will notice any runs and should be able to trace it.... plus your car will smell nice.

I've noticed my Nova's also leaking, reading the posts in this thread sounds familiar!
mine leaks into the drivers side footwell, but i can never find the root of the leak???
If i find the leak, and it's the battery tray, and i seal it, it should stop, right???

If its leaking from the battery tray, chances are the tray is rusted and has a hole in, letting water in.

I've just checked the battery tray for rust/holes, couldn't see either, also poured some water inti it, but it's not gone into the footwell, so must be leaking from elsewhere, any idea's lads???

Sunroof doesnt leak but the drains in the boot can make it damp. They arent long enough are they.

My old Nova leaked tho, soaked my stash of porno's!

On the battery side of the tray under the dash, a cable runs down vertical through the bottom of the tray (which is directly over the top of the brake pedal) This should have a rubber grommet surrounding it. Mine didn't and I bunged it up with blu tac from the back of all my pupils work that I was taking home to mark!

I'll have a look and check, then may as well bung it up anyhow, cheers :thumb:

exit points for the side repeater wiring often leak if they have been disturbed, the run-off from the scuttle area flows right over the holes in the 'A' panel.
