BHP ???

I have a 91 1.4sr with a a Performance back box. Its done 74k and there are no other engine mods. I wanna know what the BHP is (roughly). I cant be arsed to put it on the rollers till I have modded the engine, any ideas ???

your saying he could be running up to 80 bhp from just a back box. Cor I must be running about 150 bhp from the stuff I've done to mine.

well my 1.2 was running 67, thats 13 over standard from just a filter and back box

Rated as 72hp stnd. Take off 2hp if does short runs, has long irregular oil changes and compression is down. Add 1hp for back box and 2hp if does long journeys, has regular oil changes and is kept in good tune with good compression. Er that'll be wot dicko said then:D

fast 1.4sr's that my mate had ran 72.2 and 72.5 on the rolling road his had a bb4 back box and i had standard (his was the lower figure) but on the real road it was slightly faster go figure!!!

Torque is more important for acceleration, bhp just top speed.
