How do you go about cashing in tax, do you do it at the post office or do you have to send it off or something??
Anyone else done this?? Need to do it before the end of the month (tomorrow!!)

form from post office, fill it in, attach tax disc, send off and wait for cheque!

they have to get it before the end of the month so you might be lucky if you send it off today and get a refund for novembers tax

If I get it off today first class they will prob get it tomorrow so I wont lose a month of tax. cheers mate.
you dont happen to know what form it is do you??

First class isn't guaranteed next day delivery any more, usually takes about 2 days now! If you want it there tomorrow you'll need to send it Special Delivery, but needs to be sent by ~3pm iirc. You'll also get proof its delivered tomorrow, so can use that if they chop a month off the refund ;)

Just looked on the back of the tax disc, tells you how to do it and also says if it is put in the post before the last day of the month they will refund you from that date.
Incidentally it is a V14 form that you need to send to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AL.

Hurry, get it in the post today/tomorrow.
As long as it goes through the post today/tomorrow you will get the whole of next months tax back too.
If it goes through on 1st Nov, you'll lose November.

It took 2 weeks for my cheque to come through, another 2 weeks for the confirmation of SORN letter

Its like anything matey.

When your sending them money they need it yesterday... when they're sending you money they will do it 1 day later than you wanted.
