I spoke to a guy at a trackday last weekend who was running v6 calipers and he said to get over some of the pedal travel issues he fitted a astra master cylinder.

Does anyone know the one to use or even better does anyone have one thay fancy selling me as I cant find the time to get to the scrapyard.

Cheers :thumb:

The M/C you need has a 22mm bore cyl. However, good luck finding one. It is from the earliest of the early 16v Astra GTE 16v's. Ive had an F & G plate valver & both had the M/C with the diagonal mounting holes, ie when fitted to the Nova servo the reservoir will tilt over to one side.
The holes will be horizontal basically.

Happy hunting!

Well I took the risk and ordered a new one praying that it had the mounting holes in the correct place........... and it did ! :)

But it does come bare so my next question would be what regulators should I use ? Astra ones or the ones off my nova M/C.

I haven't tried yet but I'm guessing the nova resevoir wont fit either so I'll need a Astra one.

If anyone wants the part number I'll dig it out so people have it for future reference.

Or you can use the Astra servo & master cylinder and just make up a new mount between the servo & bulkhead, mod the clevis & pin on the end of the servo rod to fit the Nova brake pedal bar & jobs a good un.
I fitted a Calibra Turbo Servo & MC on mine.

LET, loads of room !!!
Only reason i done it was that i had the servo & mc in the garage and thought i may as well use it, got a mate to knock the mount up so it cost nowt !! :thumb:

Nice, besides it looking good have you noticed any less pedal travel then ?

Using Cailbra calipers front & rear as well, pedal travel seems normal (???) This is the only set up i've had on the car, so can't compare to what it used to be.

16v or turbo ?

I once had v6 on mine with normal servo/MC and the pedal travel was awful

I've been told this just about sorts it out, I hope lol

Turbo calipers, servo & mc
Aye a bigger mc should make it feel a bit better.

did anyone ever find the part number for the correct cylinder?

I should have it somewhere mate.

It is however a early Astra 16v but check in the book at the local factors as the 2 boltholes must be inline like a nova, some are at angles to each other which obviously wont work.
