I'd say atleast 290deg, something like Kent AST2, piper BP300.

The rev limiter will probably be wired into the ignition coil to cut spark at a certain rpm.

As for rev limit, the rods will be fine with arp's, you'll get problems with the hydraulic lifters when you get to around 7300+rpm

Solid lifters can be made, DIY style, by just putting a dab of weld on a normal lifter to hold it permanently fixed.

They would they need shimming to get the correct clearence.

The limiter will be wired to the ignition coil, can't tell you much more than that as i've never fitted one,but if you buy one i'd guess you'd get instructions/fitting guide to help you.

never had a problem with mine when i take it past 7k, aslong as you dont sit over 7k for a long period etc it should be fine.

didnt no you could do diy solid liffters tho. might lookinto that when i give mine a rebuild.
and the limiter i think you just connect to a point or both on the ignition coil.

The 1300 I eventually blew up due to overheating had a bp285 cam and a 32/34, It happily revved to 8000 on standard bolts for short periods, no more than a couple of seconds though as the lifters couldn't handle it.
