hi peeps , ive a c20xe nova and my tappets are noisy as hell , sounds like a taxi lol . ive no idea of what to do . can any one help . how much is a replacement set ? , how do you change them ? . how much are we talking ? . is it an easy job ? .
any help would be great ..

Change your oil!!
They are hydraulic and a good oil change should quieten them down

it is an easy job if you know how to do it.
Take cam belt off, remove rocker cover. Take cam pullies off. Take dizzy off if fitted. Then remove caps off cams (noting which way they go) and the housing for the dizzy if fitted. Then whip the cams out and change the tappets. Refitting is the reverse but make sure you put the cam caps on in the right place and the right way round.
Oh and time it up properly

k , thanks , any idea how much im gonna have to pay for a set ? i will change oil asap tommorow . see if it improves .
