my standard exhaust has just started to blow at the front of the system. iv got a fairly new pmc back box on it, whats the cheapest and best way to go about it. do i just say f**k it and buy a full stainless system with tail pipe or get another standard system so i can still use my back box. is there much difference between a standard system and performance power wise?

all other centre pipes should fit your back box performance or std.

wrong performance exhausts have a larger bore pipe either
so either get a replacment std center section (it may be split in 2 bits)
or get the matching pmc center section (asuming your car is 1.3sr/1.4sr/gte/gsi/sri) cause they don't do performance centers for the 1.2 etc
