I was told that my nova's E16SE jetronic chip could be replaced by Alfa 33 chip or Fiat UNO turbo to have some more hp. IS IT POSSIBLE?? Is there anyway to get some more hp like that?

I'm sure these were chippable from Superchips, years ago.
It was a chipped ECU & AFM IIRC

If a friend of mine is to be believed, I have a chipped AFM in my shed (he gave me a couple spares he didnt want).

I am not confusing this with the remapped/chipped ECUs for the grpA setup.
btw its only the GTE/Bosch ECU that can be done.

Best bet is a piggyback or dont bother. :thumb:

how do you know??
Lol, I dont 100% know, but seeing how the Uno Turbo has a TURBO, i'd assume it runs a completely different ecu map to a nova gte.
They both have the same Bosch management iirc.

But its like saying a LET ecu would give a Xe more power.

UNO turbo has a map sensor in the ECU I think.well it has a vacuum hose running into it. It'll be mapped totally differently anyway, so I wouldnt assume it'll be any use to a Nova.

the air flow meter you can fiddle them to get more response

sweet. tell me how. a friend of mine said it was possible to do (chip replacement) but I can't figure how. I've also seen a resistor plugged in the air flow meter that gives ya 10-25 hp but it works on a C14SE... everything is different: ECU, airflow meter, etc....

if you take the lid off, there is like a black sealed cover its like glued on carfully tak it off and under neath there is like a spring with like a cog which is set at a certain place. so wat u do is move it a few notchs so the spring is losser but not to loose. BEFORE you move it make sure you mark it up were it was. it only needs a few notches tho my mate had his move bout 5 notches. but watch it cause u can break the air flow meter if your not carfull

There are 2 DIY mods you can do to the Bosch AFM. ;)

i'ts kind of true. it won't give ya more than... I don't know... 7-8 hp. from 0-100 km/h 9 sec average. with that tiny resistor 7-7.5 sec... anyway I won't waste my time on that... I prefer real tune up. kinda espensive though but... I'll get there...

These are all minimal gain mods that are kind of like clutching at straws for every last 1/2 horse power really.

Noooo

the resisters just trick your ecu into thinking its cold , therfore suplying more fuel which will eventually just borewash your engine
