nice one! I thought a few people might be having problems with the old cat/no cat palava with the new computerised mot system, but obviously you've got it sorted out.

Yup, it took a while for the tester to understand why the computer wouldn't allow a 1400cc Nova Spin, as there never was a 1400 nova spin, just 1200/1L.
So he entered the engine manually, its a 1990 engine.

So all was good.

PASS. Always good news where a Nova is concerned. I usually have my breath held for a week prior to MOT. Who knows whats in store?

I'm about to scrap my Luxe+ because I cant be bothered to MOT it.

Congrats mate...

Craig... is that the one you fitted my exhaust too?

the luxe + + lol

I don't think I've known a car to pass first time, even the Celica failed on a dodgy suspension component last time (which, we found out after having it replaced, was perfectly fine in the first place). No doubt it'll have something else wrong for the next one, thats if the charge cooler is still in one piece

The mobile wheelie bin (aka mondeo estate) is due at the end of December... right after christmas when I'll probably have spent all my money. :(

Yes, the satin Red one.
I'll let someone have it if they want. I'll be keeping a few bits. Its very solid but Ive had enough of it & just cant justify the heart ache of MOTing it. Its bound to need something doing ( i know it needs a patch of welding on the fr turret).

Matt; That exhaust pops & bangs occasionally now its coked up a bit...

LOL the Luxe ++ .. electric windows & sunroof!

Will you still have it for Cheltenham... would like to hear what it sounds like on yours.

wont be at cheltenham in it, unless I MOT it. It was barely any louder when I put it on initially, bit deeper maybe. Now its a fair bit deeper & when shes properly warmed up.

I had a 20 mile drive accross the moors the other day to pay the lad that welded my turrets. I was absolutely hounding the car (cos I'm getting rid). I pulled away from a junction & although I only gave it 1/3rd or so throttle I took it gently to fairly high revs in 1st & changed leisurely to 2nd (not rapidly at all) & as I made the change it popped really loudly through the tailpipe. ACE! I got it do do it a few more times that day.. It is random & must be a knack to it.
My mate said he could hear me coming to collect him Saturday night before we went out on the razz, something about back firing out in the street.

Wasnt me! LOL

It used to pop for me as you changed down through the gears approaching round abouts etc.

Glad its put a smile on your face for a while.

if you have a 1992 with no cat but is ment to have a cat hw do u get away with it, is there any way of blagging it? what happens if ur engine is from say a 1990 car?

draper

did you have to prove the engine is a pre-cat test engine ??

if you have a 1992 with no cat but is ment to have a cat hw do u get away with it, is there any way of blagging it? what happens if ur engine is from say a 1990 car? Well, my engine is from a 1990 car, well at least the block is,Lol.
1990 engine in 1992 car does NOT need a cat.

Riggy-Lol, get it done fella, see if you can beat mine, i got a few advisories for minor scratched screen, dirty/faded front no. plate etc,Lol.

Draper-I didn't have the logbook of the car that the engine came from or anything, but i pointed out the engine code was 14NV, and did not have a C in front of the engine code, which is what finally swayed him, lol.
I shall be going back there next year, hopefully with a better engine fitted
