Hi all,

I'm a bit new here since I'm not from around ;)
But maybe someone here has a sollution to a problem I have.
Yesterday I bought a 92 Nova 1.2 spi with 87.000 kms on the meter for very little money.
But the engine doesn't start and the previous owner says that probably the valves are burned.
I don't mind for the engine since I have another Nova that I want to convert with parts from this new one.
But I want to take it home and it's a bit too far for towing the Nova home.
Or could the problem be something else?
How could I make the Nova run for the trip to my home?
Any idea's or suggestions?

Thanks :thumb:

Are you getting fuel?
Are you getting a spark?

:thumb:  Wow that's fast
Yep
According the owner, the engine just stopped and didn't start anymore.
Someone from her garage said the valves were burned and that's why I'm could buy it for little money.

i did this at college. when unleaded petrol come out all vehicals had to come off the road to have there valves changed because the lead acted like a cooling ajent. or the fuel mixture is to lean which causes this to.

Yep, I knew that one also since I had a leaded engine early days and had to replace them back then.
Anyway, the Nova is home now
We took the risk and towed her home. This weekend the works will begin with transplanting everything to my Mk1 ;)

That wont have been the issue on an SPi though, theyre late engines.

Everything looks fine but still not running... Sometimes almost starting but not completely...
I have sparks, fuel eyc. but no problem anymore with the engine, the parts I need are allready starting to get a new home on my Mk1.
Thanks anyway mates and soon the pics will follow of all 3 Opel's.

Check the cam timing is spot on.
Mark sure the marks align correctly.
