XE ecu's

are all ecus the same ?? were putting a XE in my mates nova but he didnt get an ecu when he bought the engine and the guy just cut straight thru the loom where it goes thru the bulkhead in his cav :roll: hes been quoted ?175 for a loom and ecu from some garage round us

surely he could buy 1 from ebay or here etc and it will work ??


p.s if anyone has a loom and ecu from a later model XE pm me lol

ebay usually has a few ECU's. full loom may be a tad trickier to track down.

not much help but would like to know the answer to this as i have a bottom end and head from seperate motors with full loom but no ecu?

been told theyu vary if someone could clarify would be great.

oh great !! so we'll need to get the code off the ecu in the donor car or even better that ecu

dunno really, depends whether it has lambda sensor / is the dis one / dizzy one. On the Lets all ecu's run on every engine except the HD but that will if you have the chip ect..

it does have a lambda sensor, i think its the dis-pack 1 aswell

right i can find out the code for if you want, think its a CH, that rings a bell for some reason (might also be gibberish)

ive got 2 different ecu's with different codes on mine n they both work on mine

i bought a ecu out of my mates gte 16v to go in my cav gsi ,

didnt work :roll: , ecu was in fully working order .
