best wat to remove sealent ??

whats the best way to remove sealent from around the welds in an engine bay ??

blow torch and a wire brush. thats how they do it in bodyshops anyway

when ever i do it i use a screw driver and wire brush. Run the screw driver along the sealant and most of it will come off, be warned though ive lost numberous amounts of skin of my hands doing it like that lol, then just use the wire brush to get the rest off.

yeah it does it a right treat

small rotary wire brush on a 4 1/2" grinder is quite effective

Thats what I used, it also cleans off any rust but it does turn the sealer into what I can only describe as cobwebs! Also wear eye protection, is bad enough picking bits of wire out of your skin, I wouldn't want to pick em out of my eyeball!
