I have just bought a corsa 1.0 12v with a broken conrod for my son.

I want to change the engine to a 1.2 because I understand that the ecotec engines are quite unreliable. Obviously I need to stay with a catalytic converter. The biggest problem I need to overcome is the wiring. Any idea for a suitable engine please . . . .

id go for the 8v engine, very reliable and cheap to run. dont ask me about wiring though lol

you don't say if you have corsa b or corsa c? Most engines that are available to replace it are "ecotech" i'm afraid. it's just a name given to them by vauxhall. They're not really unreliable, no more so than any "other" engine.
Ps 1.0 with broken conrod = too many revs!

Well seing as though the corsa doesnt REALLY need welding, get an C20XE in there!!

I had an XEd nova for m first car lol!! Reliable!!
