Get these dirt cheap for a brand new tubular manifold, needs flanges changing which isnt too hard then onto a t34 or equivalent GT series turbo and while its all off i shall be putting a external waste gate and screamer pipe off it as well.

dan16v
19-10-06, 10:16 PM
yes the mass grinding sesh!!lol dont forget to add your self a brace between the head/turbo flange also!, seen some people heat wrap them, which seems a bad move as they can be prone to cracking= more hassle of taking heat wrap **** off to weld it back up!lol

Stuart
19-10-06, 10:18 PM
id be inclined to brace the turbo too... but thats jsut me

Damnit, now I want to buy some shiney bits... To think, for the price of buying, insuring and taxing a Nova I could buy an exhaust, decat and manifold for my Celica lol

Stuart
20-10-06, 09:49 AM
ive had quiotes for a full stainless manifold, 100cell CAT and back box (yes that the entire system lmao) that have come out at ?1200 lol

Comes to something when you measure mods in how many Novas you could buy for the money lol

Stuart

I know, I keep seeing them on fleabay... oh the temptation! btw where's your intercooler gone (assuming thats a 185!)?!

Philsutton
20-10-06, 08:09 PM
The manifold ive got is meant to fit a 200sx, i bet only about 10% of the ones sold actually get anywhere near one though lol. Also i was supplied with all gaskets bolts ect.. and a brace from turbo to block which i mihgt have to adapt as well.

Had fun today trying to sort out a flange, almost sorted one off an old xe manifold but its a right pain grinding down all the welds. Next time round we are going to get some laser cut to the xe manifold gasket to mkae things that little easier. Also the port shapes are different and the pipes are at a different spacing lol, oh its going t be fun.

I shall be still doing donnington on the 29th put i will still have my standard turbo an thta on.

Don't tweeks' just sell the manifold flanges separately? remeber seeing them a while back iirc?

Stuart
20-10-06, 09:47 PM
thinkg they do but they are usually only mild steel flanges... ie no se for welding to stainless as the mixed metal welds tend to rot faster than nova rear wings

John
20-10-06, 09:56 PM
Lol, yep you're right stu.

nice big front mount ;)

phil iirc the xe flanges are not thick enough gauge for the manifold and they also need to be 316 stainless, as if you start mixing grades it will crack like a bitch! think the flanges me and Rick got were a 12mm turbo flange and a 20 or 25mm manifold to head flange! its also a bitch to get skimmed after welding as that shape is a pain to clamp!lol oh the joys of messing with cars:thumb:

if you want i could check the thickness of the flanges 2moro!

copying me now phill lol i knew you would, i used an ex flange, cut it off with a disc cutter then took it to the machine shop to get it skimmed flat, die ground the ports out then kinged the pipes on the 200 manifold to suit and tig welded them on, just remember to glamp your flange down and dont warp it when welding it up or itl blow its **** off, i can provide theses manifolds to direct fit a c20let with a t2 fitment for 250 and a t3 fitment for 300, sold four of these now and the quality etc is very good, im running a garret t34 360 roller bearing hybrid on mine and its awsome, just making the external wastegate and screamer pipe for it now, j
