Could be wrong but i think you need FIA certification

FIA homologation on seats, cage & harnesses is necessary tbh.
For the sake of 20 or so quid a seat its not worth being turned away from an event.

what about if i was to get a weld in cage does it have a max mounting point allowed and does it need to be welded by a coded welder?
it needs to have a certificate that goes with it for a rally which requires cars to be built to the blue book spec. Get a race licence then read the blue book over and over again, then read it 5 more times
Chris
And then read it again!!
No doubt there will still be something wrong!!

seats dont have to be fia spec for clubman events but do for internationals etc which i doubt you will be doing anyhow
cage ...ill make me own...FORGET IT!!!!! you need a proper cage to the spec of the blue book either safety devices or custom cages id recomened omp etc are not as good imho...as for a full weldin cage unless you are a good welder forget it its you life your messing with here ...my custom cages weld in took me 2 weeks to fit its not that easy to do it right!!!
seatbelts must be fia approved with date labels on all parts and must be indate
the whole of the car has to be inspected by a scruitineer on completiton of build and then an rac logbook is issued for it....if you done it all how you should of and it meets the standards...untill your car has this you wont get it anywhere near a rally ..unless its in the carpark!!!!!
my contact no is on my website www.aswrally.co.uk (http://www.aswrally.co.uk) if you need to pick my brains ive been competing for 16yrs and prep'd/built quite alot of cars in my time so feel free to ask for advice.......advice is free .....prep work costs lol
and dont forget rallying costs a hell of alot of money even at club level whatever you are estimating double it then add another 50% and you may be somewhere near!!!!
