HEAVEN IS HOTTER THAN HELL

The temperature of Heaven can be rather accurately computed. Our
authority is Isaiah 30:26, "Moreover, the light of the Moon shall be as
the light of the Sun and the light of the Sun shall be sevenfold, as
the light of seven days." Thus Heaven receives from the Moon as much
radiation as we do from the Sun, and in addition 7*7 (49) times as much
as the Earth does from the Sun, or 50 times in all. The light we
receive from the Moon is one 1/10,000 of the light we receive from the
Sun, so we can ignore that ... The radiation falling on Heaven will
heat it to the point where the heat lost by radiation is just equal to
the heat received by radiation, i.e., Heaven loses 50 times as much
heat as the Earth by radiation. Using the Stefan-Boltzmann law for
radiation, (H/E)^4 = 50, where E is the absolute temperature of the
earth (300K), gives H as 798K (525C). The exact temperature of Hell
cannot be computed ... [However] Revelations 21:8 says "But the
fearful, and unbelieving ... shall have their part in the lake which
burneth with fire and brimstone." A lake of molten brimstone means
that its temperature must be at or below the boiling point, 444.6C. We
have, then, that Heaven, at 525C is hotter than Hell at 445C.

I'm gonna commit a few crimes!

Nobody is going to heaven though, we're all going to hell (if you choose to believe that stuff).

Think about it; nearly all religions say "if you don't follow us, you're going to hell". So, for example, if you're a Christian, the bible says all non-Christians go to hell; whilst Muslim scriptures state all non-Muslims are going to hell. Seen as you can't follow more than one religion, you're screwed.

that stefan boltzmann law isnt strictly true.....
oooh i love a bit of thermal physics lol

also it depends on what height 'heaven' is at and the constituent parts of the atmosphere involved

ok ok, im really bored so dont have a go!

A planets surface temp relys on:
Energy developed by the planet (not really important for earth)
Albedo effect (how much light the planet reflects)
Greenhouse effect (earth has an atmosphere so this applies)
Incident Radiation from sun

Now.....
Assume both earth and sun are in thermal equilibrium (with themselves not each other - that would be disaster)
Earth absorbs 100% of radiation from sun

Use the Stefan Boltzmann law (modified for purpose) to find energy per second from sun:
P (sun) = (kT^4)(4(pi) R^2) where P(sun) is power or energy per second, k is boltzmanns constant, T is surface temp of sun and R is radius of sun
Sun emits radiation in all directions thus earth recieves:
P(sun)(( (pi) r^2)/4(pi) D^2) where r is radius of earth and D is distance between sun and earth.
Earth only absorbs as a circular area (pi)r^2 (rememeber from GCSE maths) however it emits in all directions as it is a sphere.
P(earth emitted) = (k T(e)^4)(4(pi)r^2) where T(e) is earth surface temp and r is radius of earth, k is boltzmanns constant
Assume that earth is in thermal equilibrium now so we can simplfy this: (kT^4)(4(pi)R^2)((pi)r^2/4(pi)D^2) = (kT(e)^4)(4(pi)r^2)
and by by cancelling factors give:
T*(R/2D)^1/2 = T(e)
Now taking Radius of sun = 6.96 x 10^8 metres
and T sun to be around = 5780k
distance between both = 1.5 x 10^11 metres so assume heaven is a distnace of around = 1.4 x 10^11 metres

Plugging these values into the equation gives a value of around 300k or 27 celsius.
In conclusion 27C is a very nice temperature and so yes heaven is a nicer place than hell. I can work out the temperature of hell but cant be bothered although it will be in the order of a few thousand kelvin.

I wouldn't necessarily want to go to heaven, as it would be full of self-righteous do-gooders (like ned flanders), and I would have to eat philadelphia cheese

If you go through the crematorium first whats the difference? anyway the philadelphia cheese would melt.....MMMMMlol
