is flame red a ford colour? coz im getting my gsi sprayed in ti and one of the painters at work said its a ford colour but i always thought it was a vaux one

Probably find a few manufacturers have a paint called "flame red", its not uncommon for a name to be used by different companies for their own colours. The Opel name for it is "Magma Red", which I prefer lol

Anyway, you should be getting it resprayed in Mexico Red :D

vauxhall did flame red - as did ford.

You need the paint code to get it exact.

Ring up vauxhall or scan bacj though styling/general there was a thread with some codes on a while back.

Same colour, just different names (Opel & Vauxhall). Vauxhall paint code is #79.

just seen the thread on paint codes, all GM codes seem to be 3 digits so how can it be #79?

Opel codes are three digits, localised Vauxhall codes are 2 digits (sometimes made up to three by an additional letter). The link in my sig has both Vauxhall and Opel codes for each listed colour; i.e. each colour has two codes, an Opel/GM one and a Vauxhall one.
