does anyone know what and where the engine number is?

What engine is it?
8v engines are usually on top face of block on the front N/S of the engine.
16v may be on the webbing on front N/S next to where gearbox mounts

While this subject is up, if i get my engine number, where can i find out the source of my engine? (i.e what model etc) would be good to know the exact spec of my engine!

the engine was in it when i bought it so i dont know what its from, spec year anything!
