hi,
does the vectra 288mm front brake setup go onto a nova easy?
i know i would need to get discs drilled to 4 stud but i need to know if the calipers bolt up to a nova hub.
ive got 256mm now but want bigger brakes will there be much difference?
cheers.
calipers bolt straight up but as you said you need the disks drilling and spiggot rings for the disks
I wouldn't bother for a road car tbh.

dont need to re drill them, you can use fiat coupe / alfa 155 discs, they are four stud but will need the hole drilling out as they arent the same bolt spacing as vauxhall. Also they arent 288mm they are 286mm or something.
I wouldn't bother for a road car tbh.have you ever tried them?? i upgraded from 16v brakes and wouldnt go back to them

Personally no, but 256 do the job just fine.
Personally no, but 256 do the job just fine.thing is thats what i thought till i put my v6 brakes on

I'd probably change my mind if i had them too...hmmm look whats in my thread in for sale forum  lol
I didn't say i wanted any lol
my mate just fitted them ,he used the fiat discs cos you only need to elongate 2 holes by 2mm and you don,t need spigot rings

You wouldnt say that if you had 150bhp+ & had sampled brakes on such puny modern cars such as 1.25 mk5 Fiesta etc. 1.0 Nova could justify the stopping efficiency of 288 IMO. But we all know the servo/pedal & master cyl on the factory Nova is to blame.

Astra gsi will be 256mm.
Its the diameter of the disc.

v6 brakes fit on 15"s?
Behind some 15s yeah, depends on spoke design.
They go behind Vauxhall 15" wheels.

right mine fit under my 15 inch corsa sxi wheels but as i found out at pod this weekend the 15 inch astra gsi wheels i have my sticky tyres on catch my caliper quite badly. That is all down to the fan style design though as its the fan that catches.
they fit under 15" steelies a treat ;)
