im 17 and lookin to buy a nova sr 1.3. how much should i be spending/payin on insurance on a nice standard SR???

At least ?1300+ on insurance at 17.

You'll be lucky find a 1.3 sr about.
Depends on condition as to how much one would cost.

i no there are a few nice ones for sale but at least 100 miles away. thats why i am thinkin or a corsa sri???? but i love srs

i would say you lookin at 1k insurance depending on you area and any convictions but hunt around! and as for the nova you could pick up a shed for 50 or a showcar for 5k. you just have to look and set yourself a limit to what you will spend buying one. you only get what you pay for with novas!

A 1.2 is gonna be quite a bit cheaper so might be an option if you cant afford the insurance. At least till you have a couple of no claims.

Doesn't mean you have to spunk it all on your first car! Start with a a few hundred quids worth of 1.2, that way, if you stack it, it doesn't matter too much.

i agree bout the cheap car thing, my first car was a 1.0 Nova, few hundred quid and its probably been most fun out of the lot lol.

I've got a F reg 1.3 SR, it cost me ?850 insurance for 9 months, bearing in mind im female.

I got my nova for free- someone I know has a scrappy and gave us a call when she was left there. Poor thing was being scrapped because the head gasket was about to go and the old owner didn't know how to sort it out. So along I came, put her back on the road and saved her from being crushed :)
