Got the Nova rolling roaded yesterday. Its completely standard 1.4L bar a 32/34 weber carb. It should be a solid 72bhp standard (because of the silly low miles), the same as a 1.4SR.

Ever since fitting the 32/34 weber the differance was superb, really didnt think it would make a differance but it did.

Results were:

First run - 89bhp (forget rest)
Second run - 91bhp @ 5931 / 94.9FT @ 2921 (as per graph)

Bloody well impressed. I dont think i'll do anything else, maybe a close ratio box.

I have a not very exciting video of it being tested. Just waiting for it to get verifyed by Youtube

Good to hear it drives better with the weber fitted.
Rolling road result sounds a tad ott but meh. Altho your cam etc is going to be in mega condition, unlike a old smokey 150k engine.

But as long as it drives nice, good work :thumb::thumb:

Was very supprised by the figures too. But the differance in driving it also as unbelieveable.

Remember tho, fueling is the main thing thats going to increase power. A cam might only add another 5bhp, so 95 bhp would be acceptable with a fast road cam fitted. And 100bhp if the head was done. But with a standard carb with the head and cam the results would be poor.

The not so exciting Video:

Do you have the power graph?
Interested in comparing it to mine on spi.

Cool vid, does the std airbox fit the weber 32/34 then?

The standard airbox fits if you cut out the rear bolt section, and only use the two front bolts. I'll keep it on until next spring then fit a bolt on.

I havent got a scanner, so i just photographed the graphs.

Nice results, pretty much like mine, apart from your torque range is better, probably because of the SR 4-2-1 exhaust/downpipe. As i have a SR cam fitted, but a round port head.

Bhp graph looks good, and you have the added luxury of no rev limit,Lol.

Well done mate. They're some good figures. Quite a nice power curve as well, except for what looks like a little flat spot a 4500RPM.

Perhaps where the second choke opens??
